Girls Inc. of Halton 2017 Summer Day Camp Milton

  • Our Lady Victory

Do you have a daughter 8 to 14 years old interested in a Girls Inc. camp experience this summer?  Parents and guardians are invited to pre-register their daughters for Girls Inc. of Halton's first ever summer day camp between May 8 and 29, 2017.   Space is limited so ensure you pre-register early!

Camp starts July 10 and runs for 4 weeks through August 4, 2017 at Our Lady Victory School in Milton.

Two camp sessions are available and will run alternate weeks:

1. STEM and Art Camp

Over the course of the week, girls will be guided through curriculum based, age appropriate activities that explore Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, as well as getting creative through the Arts! Activities include coding workshops, science experiments, decoration creating, and journaling.

2. Sports and Community Camp

Girls will have the opportunity to try out many different kinds of sports from swimming to golf, while building leadership and teamwork skills. We will use these skills by exploring our own local community through excursions to local farms, sporting facilities and city hall!

Celebrating the Service of Claudia Scobie

2017 will be a great year of celebration nationally with Canada’s 150th anniversary and locally with Girls Inc. of Halton’s 15th year of service.  Our first event of the year will be the inaugural Girls Inc. of Halton Strong, Smart & Bold Icon Award dinner at Pasqualino, Milton, Sunday February 26, 2017.  The award will honour the contribution of Claudia Scobie, who has dedicated herself to positively impacting the lives of girls for over 24 years, first with Big Sisters Halton and later Girls Inc of. Halton.  In 2016 Girls Inc. of Halton directly served over 750 girls, in 19 schools across Burlington, Milton, Oakville, Halton Hills, Acton and Georgetown.

A live auction, raffle, musical entertainment and more are planned.

Tickets are $100 and are available on the Milton, Oakville and Burlington snapd websites.

A portion of all ticket sales will be used to fund Girls Inc. of Halton programming and the Claudia Scobie Strong Smart & Bold Scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded to Girls Inc. alumnae who exhibit Strong Smart & Bold contributions in the community.

Corporate donors please contact for additional opportunities to support the event.
